Early Work
This gallery exhibits a collection of John’s early work, the earliest of his work were mainly created in the classical style, examples can be found in the village hall of Llanuwchllyn in the form of wall murals to commemorate Sir O.M.Edwards founder or the Urdd.
This classical style can also be found in the portraits he created.
After moving to Ghana his work started to take more of a symbolic direction, he was greatly inspired by African art, other influences included La Téne Celtic art, the Mabinogi, religions and mythology. All of these elements are reflected in his unique style recognized in his later symbolic/abstract work.
